Ailments: Hair Loss / Hair Growth

Raw-note based Biotin experience for hair growth. Internal Biotin consistently seemed to improve hair growth, especially when combined with Vitamin B12 and topical castor oil. One repeated pattern was that castor oil did not seem to work very well topically unless Biotin was also being taken internally. Dose response seemed important: around 40,000 IU gave strong hair growth and more body fullness but also more side effects; around 30,000 IU felt like a better balance with good hair growth and fewer problems; around 20,000 IU gave milder hair growth. Topical Biotin made hair softer but seemed to stop the growth benefit usually seen from topical castor oil. Another strong pattern was that Vitamin B12 seemed necessary for some of the fuller-looking effects and also seemed to improve blurry eyesight that appeared when high-dose Biotin was taken without B12. Vitamin B1 seemed to interfere with these benefits. Overall impression: Biotin is one of my core hair-growth treatments, but it works best with the right stack and dose.

Ailments: Hair Loss / Hair Growth

Ongoing experience with Biotin for hair loss / hair growth. Biotin has been one of my core long-term supplements for improving hair growth, especially when combined with Vitamin B12 and topical castor oil. Higher doses generally produced stronger hair growth and tissue fullness, but sometimes caused side effects such as fluid retention. Around 30,000 mcg seemed to offer the best balance between results and tolerability, while 20,000 mcg produced milder effects and 40,000 mcg produced stronger effects with more downsides. Biotin also seemed to improve the effectiveness of castor oil and, when paired with Vitamin B12, appeared to improve tissue fullness and eyesight. Topical biotin was much less helpful and seemed to reduce the effectiveness of castor oil. Current overall rating: 4/5 effectiveness with 90% certainty, and I would recommend it.
